He married on 16 Jan 1884 at Roman Catholic Parish St Peter & St Paul Harbour Main, Nfld, BRIDGET WHITE, daughter of RICHARD WHITE and RACHEL GUSHUE. Bridget was born at Bacon Cove and was baptised 6 Oct 1861. Witnesses to the marriage were William White and Agnes White.
